Thika Hosts the 2nd AK/Betika Track And Field Weekend Meet
Athletics Kenya Central Region will host the 2nd AK/BETIKA Track and Field Weekend Meet on 15th to 17th January 2026 at the Thika Stadium.
The event ushering in the new year will serve as the second meet of the 2026 Track and Field season. However, following the cancellation of events of the first meet scheduled for Mumias, the Thika meet will now host a full programme, inclusive of all events that were not held in Mumias.
Events will include:
1. 100M- Men / Women
2. 110M/100M Hurdles –Men/Women
3. 200M- Men / Women
4. 400M- Men / Women
5. 400M Hurdles- Men/Women
6. 800M- Men / Women
7. 1500M- Men / Women
8. 3000M Steeplechase Men/Women
9. 5000M – Men / Women
10. 10,000M- Men / Women
11. Race Walk- Men / Women
12. Hammer- Men / Women
13. Javelin – Men / Women
14. Discus- Men / Women
15. Shot Put – Men / Women
16. Long Jump – Men / Women
17. High Jump – Men / Women
18. Triple Jump – Men / Women
19. Decathlon/ Heptathlon

BIB COLLECTION
All athletes will be required to collect their running/bib numbers on Wednesday14th January 2026, at the event venue starting from 9:00 am to 6:00pm. Please note that registration and issuance of running/bib numbers will NOT be conducted on the event days.
