Sports Agency Managing Eliud Kipchoge, Faith Kipyegon, Cheptegei, Sifan Hasan Sold to Chinese Investors

The athletics empire Global Sports Communication (GSC) a Dutch agency renowned for managing world beaters and record holders is being sold to a Chinese company.
Global Sports Communications manages the Greatest of All Time (G.O.A.T) marathon runner Eliud Kipchoge, the only three times Olympic 1500m champion and metric mile World record holder Faith Kipyegon, World cross country four times winner Geoffrey Kamoworor all from Kenya, Dutch runner Sifan Hassan, the only athlete in Olympic history to win medals across a middle-distance event and both long-distance races in a single Games.
Others are two times Olympics and four times World champion and former World marathon record holder, Haile Gebrselassie of Ethiopia, the current world record holder for the 5000 metres and the 10,000 metres, Ugandan Joshua Kiprui Cheptegei and Ethiopian Letesenbet Gidey the 5000 metres and the 10,000 metres world record holder among others.
The Global Sports management top officials are in Kenya to seal the deal with the Chinese investors in Eldoret town dubbed as the City of Champions.
Some members of the Global Sports management were spotted in Eldoret on Wednesday, November 10th, 2025 including Cheptegei’s coach Benjamin Njia.
According to a source who sought anonymity, said the Chinese investors had offered a lucrative mouth-watering offer which was too good to be turned down.
After building the athlete agency Global Sports Communication (GSC) for over 40 years, it is alleged that the founder Jos Hermens has turned to China to take over the firm.
GSC has transformed the world of athletics by guiding professional athletes towards achieving their biggest dreams.
“What Hermens has built over four decades is truly unique, with over 100 world records, 42 Olympic gold medals, and 57 world champions under his guidance,” reads a press release quoted by Athletics Illustrated dated April 16, 2025. “What started as a one-man operation out of his apartment in 1985 has turned into the world’s largest sport management agency in athletics.”
Together with his team, Jos realized groundbreaking initiatives such as the establishment of the Shanghai Diamond League meet, the creation of the NN Running Team, the pursuit of running a sub-2-hour marathon with Breaking2 and the INEOS 1:59 Challenge. Also, the creation and worldwide acceptance of the Wavelight technology.
