Newcomer Donte Johnson Guillotines Sedriques Dumas

With a rap sheet longer than your Christmas list, middleweight Sedriques Dumas, arrested again earlier this year following an alleged home invasion, once again made the trip to the UFC octagon on Saturday, where he welcomed newcomer Donte Johnson on the UFC Vegas 110 preliminary card.
Dumas’s personal struggles have been well documented, yet despite them, he’d managed to post a 3-3, 1NC record in the UFC after arriving in 2023 off a Contender Series in the following year. Johnson, a fellow DWCS graduate, was entering his promotional debut a perfect 6-0.
Johnson immediately closed the distance top open the fight, but Dumas reacted smartly by changing levels and securing a single-leg takedown. Johnson, however, never stayed flat on his back: he remained composed, used the cage effectively, and worked his way back to his feet. Dumas stayed heavy on the leg, but Johnson defended well, landing short punches before reversing position. With Dumas’ back to the cage, Johnson took control, briefly suplexing him to the mat.
After they separated, Johnson began mixing in a lot of feints, drawing a spinning attack from Dumas that he countered with a quick takedown. Though the fight didn’t stay on the mat long, Johnson’s pressure and clean striking forced Dumas into a desperate shot, allowing Johnson to finish the round on top with clear momentum.
In the second round, Johnson landed a sharp left hand that backed Dumas up, followed by an easy takedown along the fence. From there, he maintained top pressure, landing ground-and-pound while staying patient despite Dumas’ wild upkicks. Johnson controlled the front headlock position, smoothly transitioning into a front choke. Even before it was fully locked in, Dumas was already looking for a way out. Once Johnson secured it, the tap was inevitable.
Official Result: Donte Johnson def. Sedriques Dumas by submission (guillotine choke), Round 2, 1:25
