Olympic hero Adam Peaty was spurred on by his future father-in-law, the culinary titan Gordon Ramsay, as he powered through a punishing triathlon for ‘Team Ramsay’ this Sunday. The 30-year-old swimmer, boasting an impressive haul of three gold and three silver Olympic medals, tackled his first-ever triathlon at the T100 Triathlon World Tour.

Cheering him on were his fiancee Holly Ramsay – Gordon’s daughter whom Peaty is set to marry later this year – and Peaty’s own son, George. Peaty wasn’t alone in his athletic endeavour; his future mother-in-law, Tana, along with Ramsay siblings Megan, Tilly and Jack, all joined forces for the challenge.

The star-studded event also saw McFly’s Harry Judd and ex-racing driver Billy Monger among the competitors. Unfortunately, Ramsay, aged 58, had to sit out the physical exertion due to stitches in his cheek but played the enthusiastic supporter instead, following the doctor’s orders.

Participants faced a 2km swim, an 80km bike ride, and an 18km run, with Peaty completing the course in 2:34:37. A visibly exhausted Peaty was then embraced by a beaming Ramsay, who couldn’t hide his pride as the Olympian gasped for air, reports Wales Online.

Holly and little George were also there to congratulate him, with George planting a big kiss on his dad and holding up a sign declaring: “I love you. Go Daddy” to greet him. “Hardest thing I’ve ever done,” Peaty admitted post-event, but he was quick to assert that he would “100% do it again.”

The swimming ace and his love Holly made their relationship official in 2023 and shared news of their engagement last year. It was Ramsay who accidentally disclosed the couple’s wedding plans for the tail end of 2025.

“It’s going to be a Christmas wedding,” the famed chef spilled the beans on The Jonathan Ross Show. “They’re looking at areas and venues and lots of planning.

“He’s a very nice guy,” Ramsay continued. “He’s so down to earth and so focused and disciplined. He sat us down in Cornwall and he said ‘Holly is just the perfect woman. I’d like to get your blessing – from you and Tana for her hand in marriage’.

“It was that sort of amazing moment. Everything went quiet. As a future son-in-law, we couldn’t ask for anyone better. He’s so grounded. Those two get on so well. It’s a blessing.”

With the festive nuptials on the horizon, Holly has let slip that her dad will be the mastermind behind the culinary delights on their special day.

“Oh my goodness, he’s been so excited from the beginning,” she gushed to Closer Magazine. “We always talked about him doing the food.”

Last year, Holly announced her engagement on Instagram with a heartfelt message: “I am marrying my best friend. I truly cannot put into words how I am feeling right now. I still remember how big my smile was the morning I got home from my first date with you. Thank you for letting the little girl inside of me feel loved, seen and happier than ever. I love you and I cannot wait to be your wife.”

Peaty also shared his excitement on social media, writing: “I can’t believe you’re going to be my wife. I’m truly the luckiest man on earth to have such a gentle, caring and beautiful woman by my side.

“You fill my heart to the brim and give my soul peace. Your family have always treated me so generously with their time, emotion and trust. I can’t wait to be joined with them too.”
