Athletics Kenya sets dates for World Indoor Trials

The World Athletics Indoor Championships will take place from 20th to 22nd March 2026 in Kujawy Pomorze, Poland. World Athletics officially released the qualification system and entry standards for the competition, and we encourage all athletes to familiarize themselves with these requirements as they prepare for the event.
Athletics Kenya will consequently hold Trials for the World Indoor Championships on 30th and 31st January 2026 in Nairobi to select a team that will represent the country at the world event.
Outlined below is essential information on the qualification system for the world event.
QUALIFICATION SYSTEM
Individual athletes (except combined events) can qualify in one of three ways

CONDITIONS FOR THE VALIDITY OF PERFORMANCES
- For the entry standards, performances must be achieved during the qualification period of 1 November 2025 to 8 March 2026 included.
- Performances must be achieved in a competition conducted according to World Athletics Competition and Technical Rules, or authorized by World Athletics, its Area Associations or its National Member Federations and published on the World Athletics Global Calendar.
