Which teams decreased in squad market value most across 24/25 season?
The team with the unwanted feat of seeing their squad market value decrease the most over the course of last season is none other than Premier League giants Manchester United. The Red Devils have seen their squad value plummet by -€214 million since last September to leave a new value of €643m, after a miserable season in which they finished 15th in the Premier League. The biggest losses in that timeframe have come from forward Rasmus Højlund (-€30m decrease) and defender Matthijs de Ligt (-€27m decrease). In second place are AC Milan, who also endured a poor campaign, and in turn saw their squad value decrease by -€163m to a new total of €438m.
In third come Serie A champions Napoli. Despite their on-field success, their ageing squad meant their market value decreased by -€156m since September. LaLiga outfit Real Sociedad are fourth with a -€100m decrease, whilst Premier League side West Ham take fifth with a -€82m downgrade. Bundesliga’s RB Leipzig are sixth, having dropped by -€77m in squad value, with the Premier League’s second-placed side Arsenal seventh with a -€71m drop. Ligue 1 club Lyon take eighth, having dropped by -€61m, and they are joined by Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal and LaLiga’s Girona in ninth and tenth – both also with a -€61m downgrade.
